I found a great
article in the latest Alive
Magazine about the health benefits of drinking water infused with fruits and
herbs.
"The word spa conjures up images of restorative baths, relaxing massages, and patrons in fluffy robes sipping refreshing water with cucumber. While fruit-infused water may seem like a small part of the spa experience, it provides big health benefits. Essential to life, water delivers oxygen to cells, flushes toxins from the body, and may help to achieve and maintain a healthy weight. By adding an array of flavourful fruits, herbs, and flowers to water, spas create naturally flavoured water that is supercharged with health-promoting nutrients, minerals, and antioxidants."

Cherry Meets Peach Infusion
1 cup (250 mL) cherries
1 cup (250 mL) peeled and sliced peaches
1 vanilla bean
8 cups (2 L) water
Use a fork to poke several holes in the cherries (this
will help to release their juice into the water). Place peaches and cherries in
large pitcher or bowl and pour water over top. Cut the end tips off the vanilla
bean, and slice lengthwise to open the pod. Scrap paste out and stir it into the
infusion. Chill in the refrigerator for a minimum of one hour before
serving.
